climate change

Climate change
There are many skeptics that believe the climate isn’t changing, but they don’t have any proof to back it up. Some skeptics like Sutton make very valid arguments and talk about how the politicians are trying to make money, which he could be right but he doesn’t back up any of his facts. Instead he talks about when the science has been wrong. He also has some holes in his writing like when he talks about the crisis of the next ice age, but he left out the part about how people all took steps to protect and heal the O-zone.
I disagree with the skeptics because they have no proof. When the scientists talk about climate change they have charts, numbers, and facts to back up what they are saying. The population has grown much larger there are around 6 to 7 billion people on the Earth at this time which definitely increases the pollution and CO2 levels in turn creating thermal inversion which raises temperature. When the temperature increases it will cause the polar ice caps to melt and they will crack and break apart. When they break apart they melt into the ocean which raises the sea level, causing floods.
Two percent of the world’s water is fresh. Of that two percent eighty six percent is trapped in glaciers and ice. One percent is from lakes, rivers and ponds. The other percentages are ground water which is expensive and hard to get at. With climate change we will lose even more of that freshwater.
Climate change is more than a warming trend. Increasing temperatures will lead to many changes in the weather like wind patterns, stronger storms, more, or less precipitation. Such changes can have very severe consequences. Climate change effects the entire globe. Countries are working together to help find solutions.
Climate change is a big problem and we should all take a look at It and find out what we can do to help prevent this. We can all take steps to help stop climate change.

Dam Descision

Dam Decision
Dams affect many ecological aspects of a river. Rivers need to have constant flow. Dams slow the river and cause damage to the ecosystem. We should stop building dams and start to think more about the environmental damage that they cause.
Some short term positives are dams can control soil erosion and stop flooding. But in return we destroy ecosystems and lose ecological aspects of rivers, and for our own benefits. Dams have been used for creating power and electricity without causing any pollution. People are now realizing the bad effects that they have on the ecosystem. Plant life is also affected by the dams because many of them are not able to adapt to the new environment.
Dams give people jobs economically and help people to make money. Without the dams the town or city would lose power, and electricity. They may lose tourists if they take down their dams, but is it really worth destroying the ecosystem. Dams can kill animals and cause major damage with floods. If we removed dams salmon would replenish and once again repopulate the rivers. We could fish salmon a lot easier and have a more balanced ecosystem.
I believe that we should stop building dams and leave the ecosystems alone, but leave the dams that we already have built.
